About

I’m Pei-Yu Cheng, an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Management at Tamkang University, Taiwan. I received my Ph.D. in Engineering Science from National Cheng Kung University in 2020. My work lies at the intersection of educational technology, artificial intelligence, human–computer interaction, learning analytics, and extended reality (XR).

My research focuses on how intelligent technologies can be designed and applied to support more adaptive, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences. In particular, I am interested in the use of AI in educational settings, including AI-enhanced learning systems, conversational interaction, immersive environments, and data-informed approaches to teaching and learning.

A distinctive aspect of my work is the combination of research and implementation. In addition to my academic work, I have practical experience in system development, network and infrastructure management, and information security. This background allows me to approach educational technology not only from the perspective of pedagogy and interaction design, but also in terms of how systems are built, deployed, and maintained in practice.

In recent years, my work has increasingly focused on the combination of AI and immersive technologies in educational settings. I am particularly interested in how these technologies can be developed into workable systems and applied in ways that respond to actual teaching and learning needs.
